Who ARE WE?

Our VISION

I AM Voluntourism is a social enterprise that provides opportunities to “Give Forward | Build Jamaica” by investing directly in Jamaica’s inadequately serviced rural communities. Our programs includes volunteering, travel camps, Agri-tourism and international study abroad initiatives. We build bridges that connect volunteer networks across the Caribbean, Europe, United States and Canada. These volunteer networks provide sustainable support for our training programs and community-based projects while empowering underserved and at-risk communities globally.

Volunteering Programs: Local and international travelers are invited to visit Jamaica and experience its culture and people.  Travelers volunteer their time and participate in activities aimed at improving the lives of disadvantaged children. Volunteers are able to experience a variety of communities and places in Jamaica with stays centered in Montego Bay, Negril, and Trelawny.

Study Abroad Programs: Our programs provide opportunities for Jamaican student-athletes to have educational experiences in other countries.  Students travel to countries such as the United States, United Kingdom or France to attend school at the junior-high school, High school or college level.  These student athletes return the Jamaica to participate in our Global Youth Ambassadors program within the “Give Forward | Build Jamaica” concept.

Travel Camps: Our travel camps are of two types (1) Sports related which is primarily soccer (football) or (2) a focus on Life Management Strategy.  Our soccer camps utilize the internationally acclaimed Coerver Coaching method.  Coerver Coaching is a global soccer education method that focuses on developing individual skills in young players (boys and girls) of all ages and abilities. Our Life Management Strategy programs educate young participants on techniques and tactics for achieving goals, improving relationships, being healthy, money management and good citizenry.

Our Core Values

  • Give: By  giving student athletes opportunities to improve themselves, they will in turn improve their immediate environment, communities and the world.
  • Mentor: Direct mentorship from past program participants and volunteers provide a genuine experience for young people to learn and develop themselves.
  • Achieve: Striving for excellence and discipline in life challenges and activities creates a healthy human being.
